Ellia’s Whimsical Unicorn Themed Mini Party

unicorn-party-2

Unicorns. Confetti everywhere. A pretty palette with plenty of pink and purple. If someone had translated my idea of heaven as a little girl into a party, I’m pretty sure it would have looked just like this! This whimsical mini party celebrated photographer Natalie Spencer’s little girl Ellia’s six month milestone. It is absolutely bursting at the seams with fun and joy, and you’ll find lots of cute ideas here for your own unicorn themed party. Natalie shared the details with us, so read on below, then stop by the full gallery for all of the photos!

From Natalie:

“Before Ellia was born while I was planning her nursery, I knew that I wanted to hand craft many elements and add a bunch of personal touches. The paper mache unicorn was one of the very first things I made. With Ellia’s 6 months coming up, my sister Mercedes of Darling and Daisy and I knew that we wanted to style and host a mini celebration for my sweet daughter. We decided to center the party around her unicorn, which had been made with love for her months before she was born. With Spring finally starting to arrive, we decided to incorporate a bunch of pretty and bright flowers around our unicorn, sprinkles, handmade confetti and lots of love. We made brownies with cream cheese filing and covered them with frosting and tons of sprinkles, chewy chocolate chip cookies, doughnuts and a scrumptious truffle cake. I also printed out photos of Ellia, the most recent from her weekly photo shoot we have, and put them in mini cards to give to guests as a thank you. I am so thrilled we were able to celebrate my little darlings half birthday surrounded by prettiness and people we love.”

Aleah’s Newborn Portraits

Aleah's Newborn Portraits

Baby Aleah is a beautiful newborn, and also the greatest surprise ever for her parents, Breanna and Jeremy. Never having had any signs or symptoms of pregnancy, Breanna didn’t find out she was expecting until week 31! Despite the circumstances, Aleah was born completely healthy without complications. Amanda Wagner captured this darling girl at just two-weeks-old in this sweet, cozy session. To see all of the photos submitted, stop by the full gallery before you go!

Vegetable Patch First Birthday Party

Vegetable Patch First Birthday Party

This adorable Vegetable Patch themed first birthday party was inspired by the birthday boy Milo’s favorite food and nickname: Sweet Potato! His mom, Brittany Hackett of BB Jean Events, designed and crafted the event herself, tackling everything from the paper goods and decor to the yummy treats. The invitation she made mimicked a vintage farmer’s market poster they loved — so cute! Joe & Patience captured all of the details, and you can find all of the photos submitted over in the full gallery. Brittany shared all of the party planning details with us, so read on for more:

“We kept the food kid friendly, but also included a rustic crudite’ platter, bowls of whole berries, sweet potato fries and herb infused simple syrup for sweetening iced tea.”

“Working with browns, oranges, blues and greens, we added pops of colors with paper lanterns and striped table overlays. Vegetables took center stage in the decor and we used them for the buffet and decorating guest tables.”

“Guests mingled while children had a craft table set up where they could decorate their own plant pot and take home dirt and seeds to start their own garden.”

“For dessert, there were sweet potato cupcakes topped with homemade fondant veggies, seed packet sugar cookies and pudding dirt cups in pots.”

“Milo’s smash cake was a homemade sweet potato naked cake topped with a fondant sweet potato. For cake time, one of Milo’s playmates decided to get in on the action. :)”
