As mom Amber of Ulmer Studios describes this nursery for her daughter Josephine, it is a touch of modern with a vintage heart — and we love it! I haven’t seen this color palette in a nursery before, but it’s so perfect! Amber found and fell in love with a Heather Bailey fabric, which she had made into the crib blanket. She used the colors from that fabric throughout the nursery and it became the inspiration for the whole design.
What is so great about this nursery beyond the design itself, is how Amber pulled it together. So many pieces are eco-friendly, reused and repurposed items, along with DIY projects and handmade Etsy finds. All pieces of furniture are reused items, as is the large frame above the crib. She gave them new life by simply repainting, and with the rocker she added an orange cushion from Target. The pink lamp on the hutch came from Josephine’s grandmother, who received the lamp as a little girl for her own room. Amber made the crocheted blanket herself, and Josephine’s aunt painted the bird canvas. The poms were originally used for Josephine’s birthday party, which Amber then reused here. The paper flowers were a DIY project, as were the three frames on the wall. So many great ideas here to use in your own nursery design!
