For her closest friend Amy’s baby shower, Kiira Turnbow of Eye Heart Pretty Things was on a mission to create a truly special, beautiful event to celebrate baby girl Hayley on the way. With a tight budget, Kiira went the DIY route, and it all came out beautifully! She found inspiration in some vintage Italian watercolored crepe decorations she found on Etsy that had unfortunately already been sold. When she couldn’t find any more like it, she decided to make her own, delicately hand painting white paper decorations with watercolors. From there, the rest of the shower came took on a vintage watercolor look.
Kiira made most of the decorations herself, and you can recreate some of the projects with the tutorials on her blog: Watercolor Paper Party Decorations | Watercolor Chanedelier | Paint Chip Garland | Painted Onesies. She also made chalkboard signs, a cake stand out of a wooden sign and two wooden jewelry boxes, and all of the gorgeous paper goods! Another budget saver was the delicious brunch menu, which was all homemade, except for some darling mini Krispy Kreme donuts topping the chocolate milk jars. Kiira also made a long cake that revealed beautiful layers of pastel colors inside. Guests were also treated to a Bubbly Bar with champagne, fruit puree and fresh fruit, as well as some non-alcoholic mixers, to create their own yummy blend. Mom-to-be Amy of Amy Stone Photography captured all of the lovely photos, and you can see more in the full gallery!
