Inspired by her father-in-law’s beekeeping, this expecting mom Erica decided to make bees the theme of this darling backyard baby shower barbeque. Erica had a lot of great ideas for the shower, but brought in Emily Elizabeth Events to help her create the overall vision and all the little details. They opted for a gender neutral palette of yellow, turquoise, and green for a more modern look, but brought in lots of shabby chic details, making the whole shower very warm and cozy. Some of the DIY details created by Emily and Erica included fabric streamers, glass bottle and daisy centerpieces, chalkboard labels, rolled napkins, and guestbook baby libs.
Guests enjoyed BBQ classics along with their beverage choice of lemonade, sangria, beer, or wine, and then had their fill of the dessert buffet. For some extra yummy fun, Doozies Mini Donuts provided a smoothie station, chocolate fondue and dipping ingredients, as well as a mini donut station with donuts were made to order! So fun! As favors they also took home bottle-shaped chocolates and bee and hive cookies made by Erica’s aunt and then decorated by Erica and some girlfriends. Jennifer Davis Photography captured all the lovely details and you can see more in the full gallery!

The fun stuff is never in Las Vegas! A mini donut station? That would be SO much fun!
Absoutely beautiful images. It’s so nice when a backyard can be converted into a gorgeous baby shower, especially if it’s the backyard of your own house! When your baby is older and is running around the backyard, it’s nice knowing that is where friends and family celebrated their birth.
Thanks for the positive feedback – we had a blast putting it together, as well as celebrating on the day of! It was great to be able to highlight the backyard and tie everything together what with the bees so close by.
hi there
can we get the baby libs anywhere? I am planning a rock around the clock shower theme and looking for some original ideas to go with the theme
Thanks

Michelle, those were a DIY project shared between me and the mom-to-be. We designed them together and she printed them on her home printer and rubber stamped each one with the bee!
