Festive 1st Birthday Party with a Spring Picnic Theme

Spring Picnic Themed 1st Birthday Party

This first birthday party is overflowing with charm! Tiffany Arment of Tiffany Arment Photography created this fun, festive party for her son Adam with a cute spring picnic theme. Oodles of gingham, bunting, and pinwheels brought the theme to life in all of the handcrafted details. Tiffany shared the planning info with us:

“We wanted to do something other than a typical family BBQ, so I thought of a spring picnic theme. A lot of food on sticks including Italian spiedini made by my Dad & Mom, fun little lawn games for the kids such as a beanbag toss, punching balloons, pinwheels, and bubbles ‘on tap’. We had blankets on the lawn, wooden cutlery hand stamped with “Happy Birthday”, and gingham everywhere!”

“I made all the gingham fabric bunting and matching mini buntings. I also made the paper pinwheels for the cupcakes, and the large gingham “ONE”. My amazing Mom did all the baking. We added little sugar bugs to the cupcakes for that added picnic touch (as if the gingham cupcake liners weren’t enough!).”

“Adam’s photo wall is a collection of photos we’ve been taking of him every month next to an iPhone and iPad that displayed the month. The very first one was taken in the hospital only a day after he was born.”

“Our favors were gingham topped preserves by Bonne Maman adorned with mini pinwheels attached using fabric scraps left over from making the bunting. We also gave the kids little goodie bags full of fun crafts.”

Simply adorable! I really love the big letters you used
At the entrance of your home? Where are they from?
    Lovely party!

    Ursula,

Thank you so much! The letters were bought as cardboard blanks from JoAnn Fabrics. Then I used Mod Podge to cover them in gingham fabric.

Wondering if the blue liquid in the jug is a giant vat of bubble liquid (as the one photo shows a girl next to it with a bubble wand)? If so – what a neat idea…and can you share any info on it?!

If not, is is just blue Koolaid?
