Enchanting Spring Maternity Photos

enchanting Spring maternity shoot

There is a certain enchanting quality to these vibrant Spring maternity photos, captured by Michelle Roller Photography at the bottom of Bishops Peak in San Luis Obispo, CA. Expecting couple Shai and Theo could not have been any sweeter or more beautiful as they held hands and enjoyed the day together. Shai’s long, white gown and handmade flower crown impart a bit of a whimsical, Mother Earth feel that works so well with the stunning outdoor setting. The shoot even included some lovely shots with the horses, with one even approaching Shai to give her belly a sniff! There is so much more to see over in the full gallery, so be sure to stop by there for more inspiration!

Pretty Baby Shower in Pink, Mint Green, and Gold

Pretty baby shower in pink, mint green, and gold

This feminine baby shower is all about the pretty! Petite Productions designed this lovely shower and had the help of some fantastic vendors to bring the vision to life. Shannon Bullock Photography captured most of the photos, and of course you can see more over in the full gallery! Sophia Kim Park of Petite Productions shared some details with us about the day:

“Between the two of us, my sister is the more “girly girl” so to speak. So when she found out she was expecting a girl and I asked her what type of baby shower she wanted, of course she didn’t hesitate to answer: pretty and not ALL pink and pretty. It was up to the shower hosts to interpret her shower criteria so we decided on a color palette of mint, cream, gold, AND soft pink. With no particular theme in mind, the objective was to create something very classy and ultra feminine.”

“For the decor, our tables were highlighted by lush florals in cut crystal from Enchanted Florist, filled with a combination of tulips, peonies, garden roses, hydrangea and baby’s breath. Chairs were dressed in custom chair sleeves from Wildflower Linens, with chiffon tendrils cascading down the back of each chair!”

“Personal cupcakes accented with buttercream rosettes and salted caramel macarons from Sweet & Saucy Shop were set at each place setting for guests to enjoy visually and of course consume!”

“[W]hat is a baby shower without the babies! Well maybe not quite as little, but our miniature shower guests were given their own VIP area to enjoy. With mini chiavari chairs dressed in pink tutus, and mint colored cake pops and hello kitty crafts just for them, the little ladies were pretty content celebrating the arrival of baby Avery in their own corner!”

“Guests also enjoyed a selection of sweet and savory crepes made to order for our brunch timed shower along with a Baby Bubbly Bar (non-alcoholic options available of course!)”

“In the spirit of keeping things “pretty” and feminine, we enlisted the amazing scents of Kamilyin. The ‘make your own’ station prompted guests to follow scent recipes to create their own custom scent to take away and enjoy!”

Henry’s Flight Inspired Room with Classic Nursery Style

Henry's flight inspired nursery

Alexandra Walker of alex michele photography wanted to avoid a cartoonish or matchy-matchy room for her son, and instead created a beautiful space with classic nursery style and vintage details. She eventually decided on a flight theme after seeing some vintage hot air balloons, knowing the symbolism of flight, height, and soaring would be perfect for her precious little one. The soothing organic color palette of browns, creams, and hints of sage and blue is one that can grow with Henry as he gets older. Alexandra shared more about her sweet motivation in planning:

“I wanted his nursery to be something I would be excited to explain to friends and to him one day. I wanted to convey in the styling of his space that this little unborn Henry was so loved even before his was born, even before he was conceived. I wanted to be a mommy my entire life. Now that I had the opportunity to be one I was going to welcome him into the world with warmth and love.”

Alexandra had a set budget for the room and kept costs down by finding great pieces on Craigslist, like the Pottery Barn Kids changing station, side table, lamp, and all baskets and inserts! She helped make the room more personal by bringing in items that reflect where she and Henry’s father come from. Pinterest also provided a great resource. Alexandra shared:

Pinterest was such a helpful tool for me because out of thousands of possible designs I narrowed down what my eye enjoyed most, which was always that classic ‘teddy bear’ color palette- warm and neutral. I would recommend to any new mom (or current mom) to really identify with what colors you want, then style, then accessory components.”
