Baby Beckham’s rustic nursery is full of charm and adorable little woodland creatures. His arrival has been highly anticipated by his parents Joe and Stacy of Stacy Kokes Photography, who chose to adopt. It’s such a sweet story of how this beautiful space came together and where the inspiration began. For more about that, read on below for the full story from Stacy. Some of our favorite touches include the “My Roots Lie Here” print that honors both the state of his birth family, as well as the state of his new home, and all the fun, whimsical woodland prints. Stacy shared with us more about how this all came together:

“My husband Joe and I have praying for our long-awaited blessing, Beckham, for many years. And on February 7th, 2013, we will welcome him into our hearts and lives via adoption. While pursuing our adoption, we did a unique puzzle fundraiser where people could tangibly become a piece of our puzzle by purchasing a piece which would then bear their name on the back. Once all of the pieces sold, we would frame it and hang it in the nursery as a constant reminder of all the people who loved and supported us through this journey! The puzzle I chose, featuring a beautiful bird, became the inspiration for the nursery. We set out to create an organic, woodsy feel with elements of adoption and faith mixed in. We choose a neutral paint color (Parisian Taupe by Behr) and white bead board and brought in pops of color with our wall art and decor. We brought in a variety of textures including rustic wood, metal and distressed furniture to give the room character and depth. And of course, we tackled several DIY projects to personalize Beckham’s space. One of my favorite pieces is the My Roots Lie Here print from Etsy with a heart over Arizona where we are from and Missouri where Beckham’s birth family is from. It’s a perfect way to honor Beckham’s roots and celebrate adoption. Now all we’re waiting on is Baby Beckham to arrive!
