Kathleen Amelia – Photographer kept things simple and intimate for this beautiful maternity shoot in South Carolina. Expecting mom Emily found out she was pregnant just a few weeks before her husband was deployed to Afghanistan. While he unfortunately couldn’t be there for most of the pregnancy, he did make it home in time for the birth of baby Asher. Such a joy for this entire new little family! We recently featured the most darling, cozy baby shower, full of cable knit and winter details, honoring mom-to-be Nikki Kinowski. Nikki designed this beautiful glamping themed nursery for her baby girl Imogen that paired with the shower so perfectly! Nikki cherishes the family camping trips she enjoyed growing up, and hopes to someday try out a little “glamping” version to indulge her high maintenance side. But for now, this pretty, fun space for Imogen is a great place for them to pretend, complete with a gorgeous lace teepee and a soft, felt animal head menagerie. We love a family shoot like this one that is warm, relaxed, and stays true to who the family is. Acres of Hope Photography captured this darling family in the comfort of their home in this sweet session styled by Kayla O’Rourke. With their family having just grown by one, these were some extra special family photos, and the goal was to keep it comfortable, content, and cozy. They’ve made it a tradition to include their vintage Volkswagen bus in their family sessions, which they’ve continued here in some fun shots. In a special touch, the VW is parked in the driveway of the new home they moved into just days after baby Maddox was born! You can see more of this shoot over in the full gallery.
In 2011, we shared Elliot’s adorable newborn session and fantastic nursery that his parents Mia and Stephen lovingly created for him. Mia brought the same love and care into planning this cute circus themed birthday party to celebrate his big one year milestone! Everything tied together perfectly with party paper goods from Wants and Wishes, while a few characters from Elliot’s room like the stuffed elephant provided some cuddly circus performers. Guests also had plenty of live entertainment with some festive clowns, balloon twister, and some circus animal costumes. Most of the food, including the smash cake with homemade bunting, was made by Mia herself with the help of a friend.
