In 2011, we shared Elliot’s adorable newborn session and fantastic nursery that his parents Mia and Stephen lovingly created for him. Mia brought the same love and care into planning this cute circus themed birthday party to celebrate his big one year milestone! Everything tied together perfectly with party paper goods from Wants and Wishes, while a few characters from Elliot’s room like the stuffed elephant provided some cuddly circus performers. Guests also had plenty of live entertainment with some festive clowns, balloon twister, and some circus animal costumes. Most of the food, including the smash cake with homemade bunting, was made by Mia herself with the help of a friend. Expecting mom Rachel wanted an intimate at-home maternity shoot that showcased the beauty of being pregnant, but also some traditional outdoor photos with both her and her husband. Sweet Roots Photography delivered both beautifully with this gorgeous maternity session. They began the day at Rachel’s home in Huntsville, Alabama for a relaxed session in the natural light of her home. Later they headed outdoors for some super sweet and romantic couple’s shots with the two of them. There is so much more to see over in the full gallery, so give it a peek before you go!
This baby on the way will be expecting mom Tina’s third child, so rather than a shower focused on gifts and advice, Tina wanted this shower to be more about sharing some sweet quality time with her closest friends. The cloud-themed baby shower was hosted by Tina’s best friends and cousin, while all the beautiful paper goods were created by her good friend Chanda Alicanté of Paper Crew.
Modern prints in a gray and coral palette were mixed with softer, more rustic wood and burlap textures. The centerpiece vases, wrapped with custom patterned paper, doilies, and twine, doubled as favors. Rather than the typical “Advice for the Parents” notes, a coupon board gave guests the opportunity to volunteer a service for Tina. For activities, guests had fun with a fully stocked onesie decorating station, along with a fun photo booth area. Esther Sun Photography captured all of the lovely images of the day, and you can see more in the full gallery!
Photographer Raya Carlisle first began documenting the story of this cute couple, Vijay and Jess, in 2010 when she photographed their Santa Barbara wedding. This fall she had the opportunity to capture their next chapter now that their family has grown by one with the arrival of adorable Maya. Raya photographed the trio in their beautiful San Francisco apartment and later as they took a little walk around their neighborhood. This family session is so natural, sweet, and comfortable, and you can see much more over in the full gallery.
