Expecting couple Crissy and Evan always told themselves that maternity photos were not their thing. But when their due date came and went with still no baby, they figured they might as well document the moment! We’re so glad they did, because we love how this session turned out. Their friend, photographer Eric Warner, took a stroll with them down to the beach to capture these beautiful photos on a bit of a chilly day in Encinitas, CA. Adorable Beauties & Babies Party

On to Baby member Mel Bosna of lulliloo photography describes her specialty as “Beauties, Bellies & Babies”, which gave her the idea to host a sweet, fun little “Beauties and Babies” party. Friends with new babies came together to share a fun day to eat something decadent, dress up, and toast to the new chapter in their lives. This is such an adorable idea, and Mel set such a lovely scene in a pretty palette of gray, pink, and white. She needed to keep costs low, so she got creative and made her own decor, floral arrangements, favors, and food! A little station was set up for the mamas to write a “love note” to their baby on a mini canvas, which made for the perfect keepsake.

Mel shared that she wasn’t quite sure how this party with so many little ones at once might go! “Periodically as I was planning the party I would have a moment of panic as I imagined what having ten mamas and ten BABIES simultaneously in my house would be like…however the day was perfection! Mamas sipped on champagne, shared milestone stories and oohed and ahhed over each others babies. The babes took it well in stride–staring, smiling, cooing and occasionally crying. They were troopers!”

Bow Themed Gender Neutral Baby Shower

When the sex of the baby will be a surprise, sometimes you have to be a little creative with the theme of a gender neutral baby shower. Alaina Cherup of Cheer Up Cherup met this challenge for expecting mom Emily with a cute bow themed shower–hairbows for a girl, or bowties for a boy. Each guest donned a bow: in their hair if they thought the baby would be a girl, and on their shirt if they thought the baby would be a boy. Such a darling idea! Mom-to-be Emily handmade all the bows herself in an array of patterns. Guests also recorded their predictions for the baby’s birth stats for the parents to read after the baby is born. The palette was a vibrant combo of turquoise, yellow, and red, which perfectly matched the hip venue, Mission Coffee Co., a coffee bar in the arts district of downtown Columbus, Ohio. The decor was mostly handmade, including the bows, paper flowers, paper poms, stickers, and paper goods. Whimsical Styled Family Shoot

A pancake breakfast in the woods created the whimsical setting for this styled family shoot from Tara Swain Photography, which was part of Tara’s workshop in Paris, Texas. The gorgeous styling by Birds of a Feather features a charming little dining scene in a bold pink, orange, gold, and white palette. This cute family made great use of the glitter, which made for some darling photos! We love the sweet and fun moments Tara Swain captured of this family in the woods and snuggled up in the little makeshift fort. See more in the full gallery.
