Elmo Themed Birthday Party

For Saylor’s second birthday, her mom Jenine of Cupcakes Couture of Manhattan Beach teamed up with some creative vendors for a fun, stylish Elmo themed party. You might recognize this cutie from her bluebird themed party we featured last year. Saylor adores Elmo, so it made a great theme, but Jenine wanted it to be more girly than the typical red and yellow Sesame Street party. So instead she opted for a pretty palette with pinks and blues (a nod to Saylor’s middle name: Bleu) to help achieve a feminine feel, while adding in bubbles brought in some fun and whimsy. Bubble machines could be found throughout the house, and the little guests had fun with bubble wands. Jenine turned to Splendid Paper+Goods to design the unique paper goods for the event that featured a fabulous chevron pattern. The chevron was then carried into other elements, like the cake, French macarons, and linens.

Kate Thomas Design coordinated and designed the details, bringing in some extra special touches like the burlap and silver buckets with kids’ snacks and the balloon backdrop for the dessert table. To add some more girly touches, Christina from Dolce Designs Studio created gorgeous florals in teal, bubble-shaped containers, and added a few lovely flowers to the top of the cake.

The true highlight of the party for Saylor was the arrival of Elmo himself who came to the party and danced and sang with the kids. He even sat with Saylor as she blew out the candles on her special “baby safe” cupcake Jenine created using applesauce and cream cheese without any added sugars. The photos are too cute to handle! They were all captured by Nicole Elizabeth Photography, who has been photographing Saylor through all her major milestones since birth. You can see a lot more from this darling party in the full gallery.
